Two years after Cyclone Gabrielle caused widespread damage to the area, Muriwai’s tākapu (Australasian gannet) colony has finally reopened to the public. It’s so good to have it back. I have celebrated with lots of trips there over the Christmas break. I was super happy to get this shot of a resting adult, a perspective I have been wanting to capture for a long time.
