There’s a lot of satisfaction to be had when persistence pays off. These two kakīānau (black swans) have been courting for a few minutes in roughly the same place at roughly the same time every morning for the past six weeks or so, but they seem to like their privacy. It’s always in tricky spots, and I haven’t been able to get a decent angle. This morning I decided to bite the bullet, get down and dirty, crawl through some foliage and move some dead branches to manufacture a good vantage point.
